What's Past is Prologue

We're like Romeo and Juliet, except older and with more understanding in-laws.

Welcome to the inaugural post of The Bard’s Cards’ blog!  We plan to use this forum to feature some of our favorite products, announce new ones, share exciting news, and generally enjoy some good old fashioned Shakespeare scholarship.

After all, William Shakespeare is a lot of things to a lot of people. He is at once the eloquent romantic and the bawdy punster. He can be both the scourge of high school English lit students and the triumph of talented thespians. To many he is the greatest wordsmith of all time and to others just that dude who stole a bunch of plays from Francis Bacon.

To give a little background on who we are and what makes us tick (after all, the characters are the root of any story): we are a married couple living in Queens, New York with our cat Dinah (who in all probability will show up on this blog at some point dressed in an Elizabethan ruffled collar once we verify that it doesn’t qualify as animal cruelty). Sam is the artist and Susan the consummate English major. Together we share a love of Shakespeare, greeting cards, and Thai food.

We’re excited to share some of our favorite lines (well...at least the more greeting card appropriate ones) from the Shakespeare oeuvre with you, so make sure to check out The Bard’s Card shop. Also, check back soon for updates. Until then, we leave you with a quote that encapsulates The Bard’s Cards motto (our little version of Google’s own mantra, perhaps):

Love all, trust a few, do wrong to none.
